After three straights months of declines, Minnesota's jobless rate increased to 7.6 percent in October. That's compared to a seasonally adjusted rate of 7.4 percent in September. The state Department of Employment and Economic Development says employers in the state added a net 2,200 jobs in October, with the biggest gains coming from temporary hiring in the professional and business services sectors. Commissioner Dan McElroy says growth in temp hiring is an indicator of economic recovery.
The national unemployment rate is 10.2 percent.
