The 2009 Minnesota deer hunting season began Saturday. An estimated half million hunters will participate over the course of the season. The corn harvest is behind normal which means some hunters will be trying to "flush" deer from the fields. Others will be in their deer stands and with the warm weather many hunters may out longer hours which could add to the harvest.
