Tim Russell



 
WCCO's Tim Russell is the one name synonymous with the latest arts and entertainment news in the Twin Cities. When the movers and shakers of the arts and entertainment world want to get the word out, they talk to WCCO Entertainment Editor, Tim Russell. A veteran and well-respected radio personality, Tim covers the hottest movies, show reviews and art openings, bringing WCCO listeners up close and personal with in-demand celebrities. Named "Best Radio Host" by Mpls./St. Paul Magazine and "Outstanding Broadcast Personality" by the Minnesota Broadcasters Association, Tim's arts and entertainment reports are heard hourly on "The WCCO Morning News with Dave Lee."

 Tim Russell is also a regular cast member and radio comedy actor on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor, a nationally know public radio show heard weekly by over four million listeners. In May of 2006, he was featured in a major role, as Al the Stage manager, in the Robert Altman film, " A Prairie Home Companion", sharing the screen with Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline Tommy Lee Jones, Lily Tomlin, Lindsay Lohan, Woody Harrelson, John C. Reilly and Virginia Madson.Tim wrote a journal about his experience of filming the moivie in st. Paul for the November issue of MplsStPaul Magazine (mspmag.com).

 Tim's character voices and celebrity impressions for the popular public radio show's comedy sketches have made his voice nationally recognized. In addition to the Altman film, his movie credits include "Little Big League" and "Detective Fiction."
