Dave Lee is the host of 'The WCCO Radio Morning News. Recently he was awarded The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's National Media Award for raising funds and awareness through his sold-out "Gutter Bowl". Also this year he received an Emmy for his television play by play. Lee is the Minnesota Gopher Football radio play-by-play announcer too, where he has won the Associated Press' Minnesota play-by-play award five times and is a multiple recipient of the National Association of Sports Broadcasters and Sportswriters, 'Minnesota Sportscaster of the Year'.
He came to WCCO radio from KFGO in Fargo, where he was the Program Director when KFGO earned their first ever prestigious Peabody Award. Lee arrived at WCCO and quickly became a regular with the legendary Boone and Erickson Good Morning Show, eventually becoming the host. He has talked with President's, athletes, actors and just about any news maker you can think of. Lee, the voice of the Minnesota Golden Gophers has quickly become known as a talented sports play-by-play man. Lee is a strong supporter of high school activities; having also been recognized by the Minnesota State High School League.
He's been on the receiving end of awards for his creative writing skills and you may have heard his voice on numerous commercials across the country or industrial films for various businesses. Dave and his ole' 67 Chevy lead the Drive For Kids every fall for Bolder Options and he remains heavily involved with Pennies For Patients, in the funding for leukemia and lymphoma research.
