Before joining WCCO Radio in 1959, Charlie Boone trained and worked as an actor, a talent that served him well when he moved into radio. His repertoire of dramatic and comedy voices is exceptional; his partnership with Roger Erickson one of the legends of American radio.
Charlie is devoted to lifelong learning: his greatest joy these days are recording books for the blind through "Talking Books Radio". He and his wife, Carol, a musicologist, share a passion for classical music. The two also enjoy cooking.
Charlie's broad interest and willingness to support numerous community events makes him a well-known personality in the community. In 1996 he reigned as Commodore of the Minneapolis Aquatennial.
Charlie can be heard every Saturday morning from 6-9am on WCCO Radio.
