Report: McCain Will Announce Running Mate August 29th

We don't WHO yet, but we reportedly know WHEN Republican presidential candidate John McCain will announce his vice presidential running mate. Mike Allen, chief political correspondent with The Politico.com, says it will happen August 29th, the day after Senator Barack Obama accepts his party's nomination in Denver.

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is reportedly among the top contenders for the post. Democrat Barack Obama is expected to disclose his vice presidential choice in the coming days.
